Women philanthropists play an increasingly influential role in shaping social change, yet many face complex leadership challenges. They must navigate high visibility, questions of legitimacy, global cultural divides, and delicate power dynamics that come with funding and influence. At the same time, many find that traditional leadership models—often shaped by male or Western perspectives—do not fully reflect their realities or resonate with how they want to lead.
In response, Women Emerging launches an expedition for women philanthropists, bringing together a diverse group of women to explore how they lead within their philanthropy. Through a shared journey of reflection and peer learning, the expedition creates an opportunity for women to discover and define leadership approaches that feel true to them and effective in the unique context of philanthropic work.
